Dove's Chocolate Wonders

Dove's Can't live without range of chocolates not only taste great but they each come individually wrapped with some words of wisdom, here are a few of my favourite quotes:

-The only normal people are the ones you don't know very well.
-Change is inevitable except from vending machines.
-Everyone is gifted. Some just open the package sooner.
-Borrow chocolate from pessimists - they don't expect it back.
-The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes.
-I intend to live forever - so far so good.
-A clear conscience is usually a side of a bad memory.
-You can't soar with Eagles while you are running with Ducks.

Happy 21st Lauren!

Today is my beautiful friend Lauren's 21st birthday, after what only seems like yesterday when we were saying I can't wait to be 18; this day is shocking me for the fact that yes Lauren, you are officially an adult!! I have been lucky enough to know her since year 7 (2002) and she has corrupted me ever since! We have dinner tonight and then her Masquerade Ball celebrations on Saturday! I cannot wait for her to see the present I bought her. I'd write more but I do have her speech on Sat so don't want to spoil the surprise on here haha NORMAN! (I know, Lauren and Chloe will be the only people who get that joke). But for now here are a couple of pictures to help celebrate this wonderful day 21 years ago. (Not so much for her poor mama :p)

HAPPY 21ST MISS BROWNE!

A Royal Wedding

Well it was finally revealed late last night but Prince William and Catherine Middleton are officially engaged. I still remember buying a copy of Heat Magazine in perhaps 2007 and the front cover was suspicions of their courting going to the next level. A very cute and together couple who met at university and have been together for 8 wonderful years and I wish them all the happiness for the rest of their lives.

Water Fight

So yesterday I went to a friend's place, we put her son into a paddling pool and once he was finished my friend took to the water with a jug and continued to pour the jug onto another friend! Needless to say everyone got wet and those particular girls looked like water rats! Here are my fav pictures from the day:

Gutted

Luke and Joel got eliminated off X Factor last night, I was gutted, but stoked Andrew got through. They were up against Mahogany and so it went to deadlock and with Mahogany getting more votes Luke and Joel's time was up, this is sad but also really exciting that the group no-one had much hope for in the beginning made it to Top 5, like that's pretty massive and even last night when they were singing for their life you could tell how much their voices alone have improved, like it was pretty awesome to watch! They were such characters for the show and will be missed especially for their antics on the Xtra Factor. I for one can't wait til they make their own music and a name for themselves in Australia well more than what they have done on X Factor. The only thing I have issues with is the fact that Andrew has no friends left now poor fella!

Iphone Apps = Riss Happy :)

Okay so I have become addicted to Iphone apps, almost on a daily basis I'll hit up the app store and check out the top free apps and then top paid apps and somehow convince myself I deserve a new treat $1.19 later I have a new game to keep me occupied for the day, I am excited but then after the game has become mundane I regret spending money on it, however some particular apps I am just stoked about, they keep me busy for longer than I need and my attention span is getting larger and larger each day. I have decided to spread the word on my fav apps and if you have an Iphone I would highly suggest you get each and every one of these :)

Free Apps

Where to begin? Possibly the most used app I have and it was free which is always a bonus is ... Solitaire!!! It's great, they keep your score, your lowest time, highest time, lowest amount of moves etc. so you can try reduce your average or beat your lowest score, it is brought to you Mobility Ware apps and it is highly suggested!

Backflip studios have created 2 of the best apps in the app universe! The first being Paper Toss, where they give you difficulty levels and different scenarios and you have to aim a balled up piece of paper into the bin, it saves your highest amount of successes and thats pretty much the game, its highly addictive so be warned. The other app they created is called Graffiti Ball and you are given a scenario and have to draw lines of graffiti to get the ball into the win circle as quick as you can before the clock stops, you can collect extra time balls along the way and its challenging on some levels but mostly just a fun game.

Mobitouch Inc has brought us one of the most addictive yet basic games to date, called BubblePopper and it is simply a screen of bubblewrap and you have to pop as many bubbles as possible in 1 minute. I know, it seems like such a silly app but it is pretty damn amazing!

Next up is Sam Vermette and dothedaft.com 's genius Idaft app, you are given 2 Daft Punk songs, Harder Better Faster Stronger, and Technologic, you choose which song, then are taken to another page where you can choose to get the beat of the song then you press the lyric that coincides with the beat, you can mess the song up, make a new version or play along the best you can.

I am certain most people would have heard of Talking Tom Cat, well I found a way better one, Talking Perry the Penguin, he dances when you move the phone and is a penguin so is just adorable without even trying!

AppCast and Alpha Salmon have brought us an app where you constantly wonder where they came up with the idea from, it is called Krumble the Clown, you are met with a Clown who appears happy as all clowns are, you then have to slap it, or poke it, or squirt water in its face all with the objective to make it cry. It even has the bonus feature of the time so you know how much time you have wasted slapping a clown!

Paid Apps

Okay so topping the list of paid apps is Rovio and clickgamer.com 's app that took over the world...Angry Birds. I'll admit I wasn't too keen on the app originally, I got the free version where it gives you 10 or so levels and wasn't getting hooked at all. But then I gave in and bought the paid version and I have to say I am officially hooked, it is challenging enough to keep me entertained yet easy enough to give you inspiration to keep going. According to wiki it has had 10million downloads in not even 1 year, if that isn't enough to explain the popularity of this random game I don't know what is.

The other game that I believe goes hand in hand with Angry Birds is Zaptolab and Chillingo's Cut the Rope. I only got this one because a friend of mine had no idea why I didn't have it, basically its one of the best games ever. The objective is to cut certain ropes to manouver a piece of candy into a monsters mouth, you can also get up to 3 stars per game depending on how smart you are with the maneuvering. Some levels are insanely hard especially when spiders come into effect, by that I mean they jump onto the rope so you have a limited amount of time, or when the starts only appear for a little bit, you do have the advantage sometimes of a bubble, this makes the candy float until you pop it.

The third and final paid app I'll be telling you about today is Azynych's Sperm Killer, not without controversy, although released normally around the world, north America got to see a censored version with the name and description being censored, we play Sperm Killer and they play S***m Killer, seems a tad ludicrous to me, especially as the game is only available to 17 year olds and older, or in America once downloaded nothing is censored??? Anyway, the object of the game is to shoot condoms out of a gun to stop sperm and viruses from reaching their destination, if you let a virus through you lose, as you succeed up the levels the amount of viruses and sperm double. A bit of a stretch at $2.49 for the game but well worth it.

Story Apps

The last 2 I wanted to share thoughts on are Streetview Lab's Tap Zoo and ITIW's Glow Fishy, both of these games are like Facebooks Farmville, Yoville etc. where its a virtual Zoo/Aquarium. In Tap Zoo you collect revenue from your animals at different hours depending on your animals, you buy restrooms, rubbish bins, trees, food outlets, zoo extensions and decorate as you wish. In Glow Fishy you buy cute baby fish and watch them grow into adults, you can then sell them or nurture them as your own pet, they require their tank to get cleaned every few hours and fed, if you don't they will die. In both of these games you can cross-breed and make some random animals, I made an RGB Damsel out of Neonblue Damsel and an Orange Snapper. I also make a Macaw out of an Owl and a Parrot, but the best by far is the Minotaur I made out of a Gorilla and an African Buffalo. Both these games are highly entertaining and well worth it, oh and they are both free, even better right?

Well I hope you all have enjoyed my rants about apps, feel free to pass on which ones I am missing out on!

The Wonderful World of the X Factor!

Right, so if you know me at all you will know I am a sucker for reality shows, after convincing myself I was done with them when Idol turned to crap and well nobody watches Australia's Got Talent, I thought I was free from everything and then X Factor comes along....Dammit! I remembered when they tried to do X Factor in 2004 and I of course was hooked then (I was 14, leave me alone) but it got no ratings and retired after 1 year! They re-invented themselves this year and I have to say it's great! I know this post should have been done a long time ago but better late than never right! I was pleasantly surprised with the choice of Judges, bar Kyle Sandilands because he is a freaking joke, but the other 3 are all professional singers and respectable ones at that! And of course Kyle gets given my favourite group ARGH!

Okay so my top 3 contestants this season:

Mitchell Smith is a 16 year old from Byron Bay who won over all tweens hearts earlier this year with his audition on X Factor, he sung Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and let me say even though its pretty gross me being 4 years older than him (http://lilmissyrissy.blogspot.com/2010/10/cradle-snatching-vs-grave-robbing.html) this song started to win me over, it wasn't until the top 6 boys went to New York when he started to really shine in my book Then he hit the live shows and Kyle destroyed any chance he had at success in the competition with the wrong song choice week in week out. Week 1 came along and he was told to sing 'Umbrella' by Rhianna, are you f*cking kidding me Kyle??? Anyways, he obviously got bad comments from the judges, then came week 2 and a chance to redeem himself...he appeared on the stage riding a skateboard (Major WIN) and then began to sing Justin Bieber's 'Baby' haha of course I loved it, as did most 12-16 year old girls around the country, unfortunately this isn't his niche and so he got butchered for it, apparently Kyle only knows of commercial crap. Week 3 came along and he sang Mr Big's 'To Be With You' I was so keen for this performance, a classic song and he did a pretty good attempt at it! Week 4 he sang 'Forever' by Chris Brown, I think this was his best performance to date besides his audition, he had choreography, and sung it well! Unfortunately this is where his journey ended, and yes I cried like a god damn little school girl, but what can you do? I think this was the biggest shock in the competition so far because he has so many fans out there but I guess this week their parents said no to wasting money on votes :) I hope he finishes school and then starts a career doing the right genre and still being his pretty skater self!

My next favourite is Luke & Joel, brothers from Newcastle Luke post-poned his wedding to go on the show! These guys are hilarious and I believe they could be Australia's answer to Good Charlotte or the next Temper Trap! Joel is the prominent singer and Luke feels most comfortable when behind his guitar! They had a rocky start to the competition with being in the bottom 2 in the first week, but after singing Coldplay's 'Fix You' they impressed the judges and began to find their feet in the competition, they have had 2 stand out performances, 1 being Mumford and Sons 'Little Lion Man' and Foo Fighters 'Best Of You' both of these songs will leave you thinking that shit like these guys are going somewhere! My personal fav's are Aerosmith's 'I don't wanna miss a thing' , The Beach Boys' 'Wouldn't it be nice' and Good Charlotte's 'Lifestyles of the rich and famous' because those songs are amazing and they killed them! They made the bottom 2 last week and sung U2's 'Where the streets have no name' and this proved they have what it takes to go all the way. One other thing you need to see if you haven't already, on the Xtra Factor these guys do a little sketch where they have some sort of argument while driving the car around Fox Studios, there are some classic moments in there like when India Rose joined them and a panda bear got in the car and jumped on her. If that doesn't convince you how awesome they are, will the fact that they skate?

My third and possibly most favourite is Andrew Lawson, this 18 year old crooner is simply put amazing! From day dot he has been impressing people, his audition of 'Fly me to the moon' was perfect, and if that failed his charm would have gotten him through by itself! Another one who has been stuck with Kyle who only knows crap gave him Rhianna's 'Don't stop the music' and it was luck that Andrew was smart enough to make a semi-jazz version of the song. I believe he is one of the biggest contenders in this competition, with only making one mistake so far in regards to song choice, during rock week when Kyle claimed that if the song has the word rock in it that must mean its a rock song, ala Crocodile Rock by Elton John, I've mentioned my hate for Kyle right? Anyways, during the Xtra Factor Andrew said that he wishes he never did that song because when people You Tube his name that will come up HA! Some of his awesome performances include 'Heartache Tonight' by The Eagles, 'Sunday Morning' by Maroon 5 and 'Wherever You Will' Go by The Calling but my top 2 from him are Harry Connick Jnr's '(I Could Only) Whisper Your Name' and Wet Wet Wet's 'Love is all around'. This dude better win, my votes are paying off so far, although if he doesn't win it may turn out better for him being that he doesn't turn into something manufactured! Oh and did I mention he is a skater? haha

So ridicule me if you must but I don't care, while you are off making fun of X Factor I am watching raw talent getting ripped up :) You rarely get to see raw talent anymore, so this is a privilege to watch it before it turns sour, these days it's lost before you even hit the studio. If you see the video for 'Lords Of Foxtown' anywhere on youtube please watch it and send me the link, it's so funny and includes all of the above! Watch X Factor, don't talk to me about Altiyan and go skateboarding! :D

ANDREW & LUKE & JOEL FTW!!!

Love is...Sheldon Cooper

Andy Irons

Today surfing lost a legend, Andy Irons,
professional surfer, taken at the prime of his life at age 32.
-Irons won three world titles from 2002-2004

-During the early 2000's was Kelly Slaters major rival

-He withdrew from the full ASP World Tour season in 2009 for personal reasons.

-He was granted a wildcard back onto the Tour in 2010 and won an event in Tahiti in September.

-Irons is the only surfer to win at every location on the world tour.

Former world champion and close friend Mark Occhilupo told Fox Sports News he was shocked by the news.

"Words can't explain it ... I can't believe it," he said.

"I saw Andy in Tahiti (in September). I dropped him off at the airport and he was as happy as I've ever seen him.

"As a friend he was so good to be around. It is really, really heart-wrenching."Occhilupo also confirmed that Irons had contracted Dengue Fever before and that it normally returned when he was run down.

He is said to have passed away due to Dengue fever, after pulling out of a competition on Saturday he headed home to Hawaii and on his stopover in Dallas passed away. He is survived by his wife and reports have said that she was pregnant.

Rest In Peace Andy Irons.

Packed to the Rafters BOMBSHELL!!!!!!!!!

Okay so if you live under a rock or simply don't watch good television let me fill you in...

Last night was the eagerly anticipated 'Perfect Bubble' episode on Pack to the Rafters. The adds were saying this Tuesday a young rafter will die. Needless to say I went into panic mode, who is it, why? how? you get the idea. I was googling it all week and well it wasn't hard to figure out who it was going to be, a few months back when the episode was filmed pictures of a funeral scene were released, 3 notable rafters were missing: The Dad, The Grandad, and Mel. 'A Young Rafter' well out of all said 3 Mel is the only young one. Also to be noted is that in these pictures Hugh Sheridan who plays Ben and is Mel's husband in the show is wearing the suit he wore to the wedding. It wasn't too hard to figure out who was going to die, having said that the producers did an amazing job of making you double think yourself as to who is going to die, thoughts went through my head the entire episode, is Coby going to drink and drive? will Nathan be in a car crash while dropping Coby off? Is Ruby going to have some sort of fever or something and die?

What really pissed me off was that in the adds they said when you least expect it, not even 5 minutes into the episode Ben was saying 'If I had of known my perfect bubble was about to pop...' like come on, but aside from that the episode was pretty much perfect, although as horrible as it sounds I was holding out hope that it would be Ruby, only because she is just a baby and that wouldn't effect the family as much as Mel would. The acting was perfect and it just sucks a bit now because Ben is probably the most likable character in the show and now his world has been rocked, I mean they could've just I don't know, she could have got a job opportunity a long way away, what can I say i'm a killer for happy endings!

Mel was a great character and Zoe Ventura a great actor, you will be missed, and good luck in the US!

Memoirs of a moron...

Okay so previously I reported about my clumsiness and running into the open screen door and hurting my hand, well I have discovered that the most affected part of my body is my hands, they are always getting hurt one way or another, lets see whats happened all in the past 2 months!

The screen door incident, constantly pinching my fingers in between my work chair and the desk, last weekend I burnt my finger into a lovely big blister, and of course the knifing incident.

I never explained on here about the whole incident mainly due to lack of hand movement therefore lack of typing skills. Basically late September I stayed at the lovely Sarah's place, Saturday morning woke up and got ready for work, said farewell before heading out, I also asked her for some scissors to cut the cable ties off my new shoes so I could wear them to work! She said they were in the kitchen so off I headed, after not being able to find them I decided to use a knife, it was fairly blunt and I was being a little bit careful but after taking forevvs to cut I opted to use a butchers knife for the last one as I was running late for work, needless to say this cut much quicker than the other knife, it also managed to cut into my hand to create a blood fountain in Sarah's kitchen!

I yelled out to her and she bolted down the stairs, I was standing in the middle of the kitchen with my right hand trying to put pressure on the cut, it was still going everywhere, and we had a moment of just staring at each other saying what do we do? I don't know back and forth, I remember yelling out pressure, and so Sarah got a tea towel and we just shoved it on there, then she left me and ran upstairs, then she came back on the phone calling her brother who is an ambo and he instructed her to get a tea towel and make it damp then to get me to sit down, I pretty much just fell to the ground, broke out in a sweat and thought I was either going to faint or throw up. Sarah got me to sit there holding the tea towel on while she quickly cleaned the floorboards, and the white cupboard doors, and the bench, then she put her phone on speaker and got me to dial a cab while she got dressed.

We reached the hospital in record time and going into triage they told me everything that could happen, the part that scared me was when she started talking about nerve damage and possible need for plastic surgery, all I was thinking was its just a freaking cut what are you talking about? The other nurses about were really friendly and told us about when Masterchef is on they constantly get people in who think they can cook, then they would ask me what I was cooking and I had to reply that I wasn't!

After about an hour of waiting time I went in to see the doctor, he said I wasn't going to need stitches and then started prodding around my palm seeing how deep and if there was nerve damage, the pain from that is unexplainable and I said to the doctor that the room was getting really blurry (I think due to the fact that when he started to clean it I could see inside my hand), he asked if I felt sick and I didn't so he kept cleaning it up, next thing I know the doctor was waking me up, I had fallen back onto the bed and blacked out. That right there is the scariest thing that's ever happened in my life. He got me back to an upright position, finished bandaging up my hand and instructed me to go wait in the chair for a tetanus shot.

He went and got Sarah from the waiting room and later on she was telling me how scared she was when a doctor came out going 'Sarah?' and then just waving her in, I just sat there wishing I was in a bed.

Once the shot was finished and we were allowed to leave we headed to McDonalds for breakfast and then headed back to her place, I was fine at this stage and just drinking as much water as I could, and then headed home for a nap (which I never got due to the AFL grand final, the game was too close to not be screaming at the tv) Mum was down in Canberra so she wasn't there to nurse me, I ended up going to the pub to watch the footy and that numbed my pain plenty.

I need to thank Sarah for like remaining calm through everything as it was a real scary day and getting me to the hospital, calling my boss and my mum and making sure everything was fine! I don't even have words to express how amazing she was that day.

Since then it took just over a month to get my pinky finger to go straight by itself, it took about 3 weeks to make a fist and even then it was a weak one, it took about a month to be able to type with my pinky again and even to this day I can't put pressure onto my palm so I'm hoping that heals up soon!!!

Moral of the story kiddies, don't use knifes for anything, especially cutting cable ties off shoes.

Oh and let me just add, the first part of this blog took forever to type, why? Because I kept remembering the sensation and getting chills all over, almost like I could feel it again in my hand! Dammit!

And I feel quite sick now....awesome!

This is what the situation kind of looked like
...except replace the shoes with vans :)
