Possible New Fav Song...

Okay I get it, lots of people hate glee, but there are way more people who love it, and I don't know what it is about cheesy lines, high school drama, and the rare hot men all singing gleefully but its just insanely good. Anyway, in the Sectionals episode of season 2 they covered Time of your life and Valerie, at the end of this is Dog Days are over, and this is so quickly becoming my fav song!
Check it out and give it a go before knocking it again! :D

The River Test

So there is this App and it is called the River Test, you may have heard of it from the interwebs and what not, but basically it is a Japanese IQ Test (apparently it's given to job applicants when they go for their interview), and you get given a bunch of rules with the aim of getting the entire family accross the river (which trust me is almost impossible) The app claims that only 10% of the planet can solve it. Let me tell you I spent a good hour-2hours working on and off on it that night, thus making me so frikken angry, the next day at work I made everyone try it, we had in the office 2 guys, 3 girls. The first guy got it after 12 minutes, the second guy got very frustrated and after mulling it over for a very extended period of time still failed to finish it. The 1st girl got it but after awhile of thinking about it, 2nd girl got 1 person over the river and decided there were too many rules, and the last girl was me, who was still incredibly frustrated at myself! On the way home that day I decided to just keep trying over and over and over and then eventually I WON! Best feeling ever! Esther and myself almost let out a scream on the train haha, you may think we were freaks but you need to understand the amount of frustration you get while playing this game.
If you want to have a go download the app: The River Test or if you just want to play online (not as cool) go here: http://www.robmathiowetz.com/

Make sure to pass on how you go with it :)

GQ Men of the Year 2010

So I wrote this ages ago, and forgot to post it, so here is the very very delayed recap of the awards!

Well last night was the GQ Men of the year awards, and I thought I'd just do my part in wrapping up this event, even if its purely an excuse to put pictures of genetically blessed men on my blog. The awards winners are as follows:
Man of Chivalry...Loyal Foundation Yacht Crew
Creative Force of the year...Blue Tongue Films
Television Actor of the year...Firass Dirani
Fashion Designer of the year...Vanishing Elephant
Chef of the year...Curtis Stone
Breakthrough of the year...Chris Hemsworth
Politician of the year...Wyatt Roy
Artist of the year...Sam Shmith
Comedian of the year...Josh Thomas
Music Act/Band of the year...Birds of Tokyo
Media Personality of the year...Wil Anderson
Actor of the year...Ben Mendelsohn
Man of Style...Xavier Samuel
Sportsman of the year...Mark Webber
Man of inspiration...Jack Manning Bancroft
Critic of the year...Matt Preston
Man of the year...Ryan Kwanten

Alright so digesting time, what would you think if you were awarded 'Man of the year' is this the ultimate award for any male? Does it mean most manly, or most successful man, or well done on going to the gym and being blessed from a good gene pool? I do have to say Josh Thomas, Chris Hemsworth and Ryan Kwanten are all worthy winners but I can't help but hate the fact that the Chef of the year went to Mr $10 Coles man or that the Critic of the year looks like it was an award made for Matt Preston and therefore only had 3 nominations, why don't they have a Judge of the year and then bring in all the reality shows contenders or better yet have a reality category, I mean tell me if I'm wrong but this is generally all people care about anymore! And what's the go with the Chivalry, Inspiration and Creative Force of the year? All 3 of them are amazing and all deserve recognition but to be given an award that is recognised as more of a beauty award leaves me confused. But anyway, I do love GQ and regardless of any of my issues with it they do point out some of the hottest men of the moment!

Mum's new crib.

Mum recently decided to have a change of lifestyle and move to Shellharbour.

If you haven't heard of Shellharbour it is roughly 1.5-2hrs south of Sydney, depending on traffic! It is a small town surrounded by beaches and has a real nice atmosphere about it! It is the next city south of Wollongong, but lets make this clear, according to Shellharbour inhabitants they are not the same place :)

There is this mad beach called The Farm and my mate Shellee was telling me that before her time there was no such suburb called Shell Cove and you would have to drive up a dirt road to get there, and that when you reached the farm you would pay the farmer something like 20cents upon entry to drive through his farm and park and then walk the epic hill down to the beach, its facing south so gets a different swell to other Eastern beaches. I think the best part is that in 2009 it was declared a National Surfing Reserve, meaning that it will be protected as a surfing beach.

Lets also not forget the little gem called Sam's Warehouse, my first day in Shellharbour and I was in there for about 1.5hours! It's my new favourite place, a toaster and a jug for $6 each, Solar lights 2 for $5, buckets and buckets for cheap DVD's.

Mum's place is literally a 50mtr walk to the beach (Warilla), and its a massive beach with nice waves and quiet enough to have an awesome day there! She is also in the same neighbourhood as NRL players Trent Barrett and Matt Cooper, definitely a good enough reason to go for a walk in the morning for the chance to see them walking their dogs or on their way to the beach!

Danny Junior turns 1!

I cannot believe that just over a year ago Danny Junior wasn't a part of our lives yet. If it wasn't for him our reflexes would still be sh*thouse, we would not have an extensive knowledge of Yo Gabba Gabba & Spongebob, our cameras wouldn't be so worn out, and most importantly we would never have had the infamous baby powder fight, thanks Chloe :) Having said all of that I wouldn't change a thing because our lives are richer for knowing him, and learn more about life than we'd ever imagine.

His birthday party fell the morning after Lauren's 21st birthday so needless to say there were a lot of dehydrated ladies sitting in the shade sculling water. I'd organised to do face painting on the kiddies, and with the help of the two Laurens we managed to butcher the face of 90% of the kids there, 10% were boys and opted for a tiger! Chloe and Danny had a jumping castle that was AMAZING, except us big kids weren't allowed on it, makes sense, we'd probably pass out in there. Chloe also organised a pinata in the shape of Dora the Explorer, and after pulling her head off us chikas all took a picture of our head replacing hers. The adult boys were fascinated for what seemed like hours over a motorbike (come on guys, they arent that interesting) but this left the ladies to sit in the shade oogling over all the babies! When everyone had left and it came time to to open the presents Chloe got overwhelmed with how many presents their were, DJ loved the wrapping paper, and we all discovered Pebbles' maternal instincts with the folding of all the clothes. We finished the night off with sparklers, and chilling in the shed.

A perfect day for a perfect boy.

-Everyone is gifted. Some just open the package sooner.
-Borrow chocolate from pessimists - they don't expect it back.
-The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes.
-I intend to live forever - so far so good.
-A clear conscience is usually a side of a bad memory.

Happy 21st Lauren!

Today is my beautiful friend Lauren's 21st birthday, after what only seems like yesterday when we were saying I can't wait to be 18; this day is shocking me for the fact that yes Lauren, you are officially an adult!! I have been lucky enough to know her since year 7 (2002) and she has corrupted me ever since! We have dinner tonight and then her Masquerade Ball celebrations on Saturday! I cannot wait for her to see the present I bought her. I'd write more but I do have her speech on Sat so don't want to spoil the surprise on here haha NORMAN! (I know, Lauren and Chloe will be the only people who get that joke). But for now here are a couple of pictures to help celebrate this wonderful day 21 years ago. (Not so much for her poor mama :p)

HAPPY 21ST MISS BROWNE!

A Royal Wedding

Well it was finally revealed late last night but Prince William and Catherine Middleton are officially engaged. I still remember buying a copy of Heat Magazine in perhaps 2007 and the front cover was suspicions of their courting going to the next level. A very cute and together couple who met at university and have been together for 8 wonderful years and I wish them all the happiness for the rest of their lives.

Water Fight

So yesterday I went to a friend's place, we put her son into a paddling pool and once he was finished my friend took to the water with a jug and continued to pour the jug onto another friend! Needless to say everyone got wet and those particular girls looked like water rats! Here are my fav pictures from the day:

Gutted

Luke and Joel got eliminated off X Factor last night, I was gutted, but stoked Andrew got through. They were up against Mahogany and so it went to deadlock and with Mahogany getting more votes Luke and Joel's time was up, this is sad but also really exciting that the group no-one had much hope for in the beginning made it to Top 5, like that's pretty massive and even last night when they were singing for their life you could tell how much their voices alone have improved, like it was pretty awesome to watch! They were such characters for the show and will be missed especially for their antics on the Xtra Factor. I for one can't wait til they make their own music and a name for themselves in Australia well more than what they have done on X Factor. The only thing I have issues with is the fact that Andrew has no friends left now poor fella!

Iphone Apps = Riss Happy :)

Okay so I have become addicted to Iphone apps, almost on a daily basis I'll hit up the app store and check out the top free apps and then top paid apps and somehow convince myself I deserve a new treat $1.19 later I have a new game to keep me occupied for the day, I am excited but then after the game has become mundane I regret spending money on it, however some particular apps I am just stoked about, they keep me busy for longer than I need and my attention span is getting larger and larger each day. I have decided to spread the word on my fav apps and if you have an Iphone I would highly suggest you get each and every one of these :)

Free Apps

Where to begin? Possibly the most used app I have and it was free which is always a bonus is ... Solitaire!!! It's great, they keep your score, your lowest time, highest time, lowest amount of moves etc. so you can try reduce your average or beat your lowest score, it is brought to you Mobility Ware apps and it is highly suggested!

Backflip studios have created 2 of the best apps in the app universe! The first being Paper Toss, where they give you difficulty levels and different scenarios and you have to aim a balled up piece of paper into the bin, it saves your highest amount of successes and thats pretty much the game, its highly addictive so be warned. The other app they created is called Graffiti Ball and you are given a scenario and have to draw lines of graffiti to get the ball into the win circle as quick as you can before the clock stops, you can collect extra time balls along the way and its challenging on some levels but mostly just a fun game.

Mobitouch Inc has brought us one of the most addictive yet basic games to date, called BubblePopper and it is simply a screen of bubblewrap and you have to pop as many bubbles as possible in 1 minute. I know, it seems like such a silly app but it is pretty damn amazing!

Next up is Sam Vermette and dothedaft.com 's genius Idaft app, you are given 2 Daft Punk songs, Harder Better Faster Stronger, and Technologic, you choose which song, then are taken to another page where you can choose to get the beat of the song then you press the lyric that coincides with the beat, you can mess the song up, make a new version or play along the best you can.

I am certain most people would have heard of Talking Tom Cat, well I found a way better one, Talking Perry the Penguin, he dances when you move the phone and is a penguin so is just adorable without even trying!

AppCast and Alpha Salmon have brought us an app where you constantly wonder where they came up with the idea from, it is called Krumble the Clown, you are met with a Clown who appears happy as all clowns are, you then have to slap it, or poke it, or squirt water in its face all with the objective to make it cry. It even has the bonus feature of the time so you know how much time you have wasted slapping a clown!

Paid Apps

Okay so topping the list of paid apps is Rovio and clickgamer.com 's app that took over the world...Angry Birds. I'll admit I wasn't too keen on the app originally, I got the free version where it gives you 10 or so levels and wasn't getting hooked at all. But then I gave in and bought the paid version and I have to say I am officially hooked, it is challenging enough to keep me entertained yet easy enough to give you inspiration to keep going. According to wiki it has had 10million downloads in not even 1 year, if that isn't enough to explain the popularity of this random game I don't know what is.

The other game that I believe goes hand in hand with Angry Birds is Zaptolab and Chillingo's Cut the Rope. I only got this one because a friend of mine had no idea why I didn't have it, basically its one of the best games ever. The objective is to cut certain ropes to manouver a piece of candy into a monsters mouth, you can also get up to 3 stars per game depending on how smart you are with the maneuvering. Some levels are insanely hard especially when spiders come into effect, by that I mean they jump onto the rope so you have a limited amount of time, or when the starts only appear for a little bit, you do have the advantage sometimes of a bubble, this makes the candy float until you pop it.

The third and final paid app I'll be telling you about today is Azynych's Sperm Killer, not without controversy, although released normally around the world, north America got to see a censored version with the name and description being censored, we play Sperm Killer and they play S***m Killer, seems a tad ludicrous to me, especially as the game is only available to 17 year olds and older, or in America once downloaded nothing is censored??? Anyway, the object of the game is to shoot condoms out of a gun to stop sperm and viruses from reaching their destination, if you let a virus through you lose, as you succeed up the levels the amount of viruses and sperm double. A bit of a stretch at $2.49 for the game but well worth it.

Story Apps

The last 2 I wanted to share thoughts on are Streetview Lab's Tap Zoo and ITIW's Glow Fishy, both of these games are like Facebooks Farmville, Yoville etc. where its a virtual Zoo/Aquarium. In Tap Zoo you collect revenue from your animals at different hours depending on your animals, you buy restrooms, rubbish bins, trees, food outlets, zoo extensions and decorate as you wish. In Glow Fishy you buy cute baby fish and watch them grow into adults, you can then sell them or nurture them as your own pet, they require their tank to get cleaned every few hours and fed, if you don't they will die. In both of these games you can cross-breed and make some random animals, I made an RGB Damsel out of Neonblue Damsel and an Orange Snapper. I also make a Macaw out of an Owl and a Parrot, but the best by far is the Minotaur I made out of a Gorilla and an African Buffalo. Both these games are highly entertaining and well worth it, oh and they are both free, even better right?

Well I hope you all have enjoyed my rants about apps, feel free to pass on which ones I am missing out on!
