Ch ch ch ch ch Changes

Yesterday (I started writing this in September last year) so one day in September... I met up with Lauren and one of the first things she said was I've quit smoking, now I was tempted to laugh at her but I found she was being sincere (not til about 3 hours later when she had a ciggy) but thats not the point, the point is she had been reassessing her life and decided she should do without cigarettes and THIS got me thinking.
What does it take to make a person decide hmm my life needs changes?
How do you decide the most effective part of your life to change?
What do you do when this thing fails or you don't want it to change anymore?
I tried to decide this for myself but found it very difficult, I could give up smoking and that would be very good for my health, I could go back to uni something I don't want to do but I am sure it would be beneficial, I could move back to NZ, something I want to do really badly but I have too many things I enjoy here, I could shave my head, don't particularly want to do that but I am sure it would have an impact on my life, there are so many things I could change, I am certain some things need to be changed but I find it impossible to decide on one.
It begs me to ask the question, what would you change in your life and how much of an impact would that make, would it be worth the effort to change in the first place or would it be so life changing you wondered why you didn't do it earlier?
